Why we publish methodology PDFs with cohort releases
Benchmark anxiety is real. Documentation is cheaper than debate—and easier to audit later.
Benchmarking features invite two opposite failures: blind trust and endless suspicion. PDF methodology releases sit in the middle. They give external reviewers something concrete without pretending every organization is identical.
Each release documents sample thresholds, anonymization steps, and known gaps. When a line disappears because contributors dropped below the minimum, we say so plainly.
Customers use the PDFs in different ways. Some attach them to procurement packets. Others circulate them internally before leadership reviews. The common thread is fewer circular arguments about definitions.
We revise documents when cohort rules change, not on a marketing calendar. That discipline keeps the PDF trustworthy even when headlines could sound louder.
